Key Concepts
Key Concepts
Before you start using OpenCloud, here are the key terms you'll see throughout the platform. Don't worry — they're simpler than they sound.
Project
A Project is like a folder that holds all your applications and databases together. Every app or database you create belongs to a project.
Example: You might create a project called "My AI Stack" that contains an OpenClaw agent, a PostgreSQL database, and an n8n automation tool.
Application
An Application is a ready-to-use software program that OpenCloud deploys and runs for you. You don't need to install anything — just pick an app, choose a size, and OpenCloud does the rest.
Primary applications:
- n8n — AI workflow automation with 500+ integrations
- OpenClaw — Autonomous AI agent with built-in browser
- CoPaw — Multi-channel AI assistant (iMessage, Discord, DingTalk, and more)
Resource
A Resource is an infrastructure service that your applications might need — like a database to store data, a cache to speed things up, or storage for files.
Available resources:
| Type | Options | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Database | PostgreSQL | Storing your data (user accounts, content, records) |
| Cache | Redis | Making your apps faster by temporarily storing frequently used data |
Domain
A Domain is the web address people use to visit your application (like myapp.opencloud.com.vn or your own custom domain like mysite.com).
- OpenCloud gives every application a free subdomain automatically
- You can also connect your own domain name if you have one
- All domains get automatic SSL (the padlock icon that means your site is secure)
Plan
A Plan determines how much computing power your application or resource gets. Bigger plans mean more speed, memory, and storage — but cost more credits per month.
Each plan specifies:
- CPUs — How fast it can process tasks
- Memory (RAM) — How much data it can work with at once
- Storage — How much space for files and data
Credit
Credits are the virtual currency you use to pay for your applications and resources on OpenCloud. Credits are measured in Vietnamese Dong (VND).
- You add credits to your account by making a payment
- Credits are automatically deducted each month based on your active applications and resources
- You can track your spending in the Billing section of your dashboard
Addon
An Addon is an optional system-wide service you can enable for your project:
- AI Connections (9Router) — Central AI proxy for multi-provider LLM routing
- AI Security (GuardRails) — Security layer with PII protection and prompt injection detection
Activity
An Activity is a log entry that records something that happened in your account. Every time you create a project, deploy an app, make a payment, or change settings, it gets recorded in your Activity Log.
This is useful for:
- Tracking what changes were made and when
- Troubleshooting issues
- Keeping an audit trail of your account
Voucher
A Voucher is a discount code that gives you bonus credits when you add money to your account. For example, a voucher might give you 20% extra credits on top of your payment.
Referral Program
